| Does anyone know if the CS nursing facilities keep detailed patient records? For instance, do they note changes in the patient, what they ate, who attended them etc? If so, how could one go about getting a copy...other than an outright lawsuit?

| What, and add credibiility to the false testimony of mortal mind? Besides, that kind of document can always be used as evidence!

| Gentle Dove, I e-mailed a friend who has more knowledge about your question than I, and she offered the following information: CS nurses used to keep detailed records regarding their patients' conditions -- at least what they could observe regarding these conditions without medical training or procedures like taking a pulse. In a couple of court cases involving the deaths of children under CS care, the nurses' notes gave juries a vivid picture of how sick the children had been. (For information on the deaths and court cases regarding Ian Ludman and Robyn Twitchell, see http://www.childrenshealthcare.org..) During the timeframe of the Ludman and Twitchell trials (late 1980's - early 1990's), the CS Church changed the rules so that now CS nurses just record what they did for the patient, not what the patient's symptoms were (I'm going to assume this applies to CS nurses in the nursing homes as well as when they do home care). I don't know if they have to be more specific in Medicare and Medicaid cases. Buy the way, I believe the proper term for a CS nursing home is "CS sanatorium." In any case, patient records are confidential. One would need to have power of attorney or be the patient's legal guardian to have access to them.

| That's just another example of the Christian Scientists getting the benefit of the laws without any of the duties. Veil the records (if they are taken) in secrecy, have the benefit of medicare/medicade payments but no duty to supervise those working under the name "Christian Science". I wonder if there could ever be a study of how many people enter the sanatoriums, under what conditions, and how many leave via hearse?
