Of the Pasadena CS church's membership of 90-100, one year ago there were at least 2 or 3 CS Teachers and several more Practitioners in regular attendance. Their services and crowd is decidedly very conservative and traditional, and a whole number of their members fall into the wealthy category, at least by national US standards. Pasadena is a large fairly wealthy suburb of LA, and is surrounded by other wealthy LA suburbs. A fairly high percentage of the population in the area is at or near retirement age, though there also exist a couple of small to midsize colleges there too.

Other than those facts I can not explain their relative success in attendance, funding, or healing, nor can I explain the need of some of their members to attempt to radically defend their beliefs from anyone who claims otherwise. If you look at their website it is easy to speculate from some of the photos that their glory days were some time ago, as they were for many CS churches and related enterprises. Just look at the guy's hairstyles in the black & white photos. One of the photos shows my step-dad reading. He is wearing a black suit and white shirt. He died almost a year ago of natural causes at age 83.

Its not all that far from Phoenix to Pasadena if you want to try attending. I've made the trip before in 6 hours. Jump off of the 210 at Lake St, then go south to Cordova and go right. The church will be on your right in 1/2 mile or so.

Shouldn't this discussion be moved to the topic regarding the closing of churches? Anyway, 90 to 100 in membership is eyepopping for a CS church! My theory is that it is CALIFORNIA ......a state known for it's .....well....... "differences". Lots of wierd stuff and people there, so I hear!! Ok, nobody get offended, what I meant was. It seems to be a population that is more tolerent of "far out" ideas...like CS, Scientology, etc.
