I would like to hear any ex Prin alumni tell of their experience attending a Prin re-union. I graduated from Prin College in 1975, and have thought of attending many times, but since I no longer practice CS, I have decided against it. Does anyone else have the same hesitations? Even though I do not practice CS, I still would like to see the many friends I made during my time there, but feel that I would be out of place now. Has anyone tried it? Can you go back after leaving CS, and have a good time?
I'm anxious to hear.

I attended a Prin reunion in 1996 (eleven years after leaving CS) and know other people who have attended reunions after leaving CS. I don't think you need to feel odd about it. Half the people who attend Prin eventually leave CS, so I suspect that most CS Prin alumni have maintained friendships with classmates who are no longer CS. As I recall, there was a reception for alumni who were no longer CS -- a gesture of friendship on the part of the school.

I really enjoyed being on campus even though it brought up some strong emotions (I was working through a lot of CS related "baggage" at the time). The campus was just as beautiful and peaceful as I remembered it, and it was fun exploring the places I had loved as a student. I did find it odd and a bit unsettling, however, to be immersed in the CS culture again. I had no desire to step back into that mindset!

If you want to see old Prin friends, I would recommend attending a reunion.

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Behal? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? for we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

I went to my 10 year reunion this past fall and I rather enjoyed seeing the campus again, and minstering to others. I did ,as I expected, have friends that were no longer CS and I was happy to spent time with them. I also am still in contact with several that are still CS and I am loving the idea of ministring to them as well. As the Bible tells us Jesus wants us to spred the word of God to all people, the Bible does state that Jesus "hung out" with all sorts of people and even his disciples questioned him on that. If you look at Matthew 5: 43-48 it says...

Love for Enemies

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Even though I am sure CSists are not our enemy, they are still non believers, I would take it as a chance to say hey I can change someones life and introduce them to the real Jesus!!

I'm no longer fully practicing CS, and my husband has never stepped foot inside a CS church before. We both attended the reunion in Elsah last month. We had a fantastic time. There were many people there who are no longer practicing CS (at least half of the reunioners I think), as well as good friends who are gay. Regardless of what path you have trodden since you left Prin, I'd recommend going back. All the negative thoughts I had about Prin fell away that weekend and I realised how lucky I had been to have attended college there - despite all the hurdles. My husband even said, why aren't there colleges like this for non CS folks!
