| Is this site and its contributors really pro Bible based Christianity or simply pro-medical establishment? Nowhere in the Bible do I see the practise of medicine or the refusal of medicine as being the test of fellowship for believerhood.

Anonymous Sunday, August 20, 2006 10:00 PM,
Is this site and its contributors really pro Bible based Christianity or simply pro-medical establishment?
This site is hosted by a Bible-believing church and maintained by a Bible-believing moderator as a ministry for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with current and former Christian Scientists. As not using medicine is a significant differentiator of CS, you will see many discussions of medicine in the forum.
Contributors to the forum represent a broad range of people from "Jesus freaks" such as myself to commited CSists to agnostics and probably even an occassional atheist or two. What tends to unite us is some level of experience with CS. Many of the other regular contributors, the moderator, and I are former CSists. Some CSists contribute to our discussions. Others have loved ones in CS.
You're absolutely right about the Bible not including the practise of medicine as a test of fellowship or belief. Unfortunately, too often at least the culture of CS makes it so. Many of us have lost loved ones on the altar of CS when they refused treatment for relatively simple disorders simply because they believed CS includes such a test.
Hope that answers your question.
