| Michael, Since you did us the favor of posting your full name and email address, a quick internet search led me to your blog at http://www.michaeltrevail.blogspot.com. So actually, I do know a little about you. You are a 10th-grade kid who loves CS, the Upper School, camp, and you are currently working as a "TMC Youth Intern". You probably know my friend Justin Byrd as he also works at tmc. Ask him about me (he knew me as Courtney Bogott and we swam together at Prin College). I'm sure you're a nice guy and you are just trying to defend what you see as a vicious attack against your family and all your CS friends. Nobody here is trying to say that CSists are terrible evil people. I think they have been deceived but most of them have good hearts. I left CS because when I truly studied the Bible BY ITSELF without "interpretations" from MBE, I saw a different story with a different meaning, and it lifted a huge burden off me. I love God with all my heart and I know that Jesus Christ died for me. I know that there's nothing I can do to try to earn that salvation for myself. I'm no longer obsessed with a perfection that is unattainable, but I am trying to live my life as a witness for Jesus. I see my original post has really touched a nerve with you. If it bothers you that much, why do you keep coming back? Regards, Courtney Moser

I completely did not expect him to fall apart like he did. He totally missed the irony of the situation, and took an attack on his belief system to be an attack on his very being.
Now THAT'S cult-like! Any attack on the belief system is a potentially mortal one, to be repelled at all costs. Reason and logic have completely shut down. It's sad. . .

i think we all need to realize how powerful a hold religion can have, especially on young people. this kid is probably only 16 years old. from reading his blog it seems like cs is his whole world. i think it would be better to ask him thoughtful questions than to make him feel like his world is threatened. he seems like a smart kid, and hopefully will find his way out of the mesmerism of cs.

| I went to school with Stuart and knew him quite well. Anyone who knows him is well aware of his integrity. If his work at Prin is for not, shame on the board. For years the school has been heading down a path destined for destruction. For once, someone is actaully making progress and inacting fiscal and sound decisions. It's high time the heads come out of the sand in St. Louis and Elsah!

My name is Nate Smith. I graduated from the Principia College in 2003. I have been very involved in everything that is going on at Principia seeing as my Father works at the Upper School and my Mother used to work there. I won't try to cover all of the many topics that may or may not be true about Stuart Jenkins and his work at the Principia. But I will say this one thing that is true. Stuart Jenkins fired my mother, Dory Smith-Athletic Director for the Upper School. He fired her because she is a woman. There are witnesses who have confessed to having knowledge of this. If you'd like to hear more about this, feel free to contact me at natesmithsemail@gmail.com

Nate,
I'm somewhat uncomfortable with your post. I have no way of confirming or denying the facts (including your identity). Given the accusatory nature of your message, I hope you don't mind if I interject a disclaimer here along the lines of that used on talk radio...
The views expressed by the poster do not necessarily represent those of the forum host, moderators, or other contributors.
Mr. Jenkins is certainly welcome to post a rebuttal.

Thank you all for a very entertaining and provocative messaging session.
I am an alum, doing missionary work with orphans in Africa so have limited access to e-mail and these groups.
I encourage you all to be patient with our 10th grade Prin student and pray for him. Most of us here were extremely lost at some point during our Upper School or College, or both, experiences and God came to find us. My logic defense helmet was probably amongst the thickest as a Boys Board member at the Upper School and a Reader at the College, not to mention practitioner's son. No amount of logical attack could weaken my stand but only made my misdirected faith stronger. God has found each of us, not the other way around, so we can love others, even christian scientists without malice.
The effort is great here and I am guilty of laughing at the CS logic deconstruction and reversal. But, if we laugh and tear down what we now know is false and loose a potential brother in Christ what have we truly accomplished?
All the best,
Paul

I believe the official Principia web site does have some information regarding the matter that you all have been discussing:
http://www.prin.edu/trustees
In fact, there are a number of letters that are publically available under the "Board Correspondence to the Community" column. The posts on January 31 and February 5 are worth reading.
God bless....
