| I went to Christian Science Sunday School until I was 20 years old. I enjoyed the discussions and especially the music, but could never find the answers to these two questions. If God created man perfect, how did he believe an imperfect idea? and If God doesnot know sin, disease and death, why does He talk about it so much in the Old Testament? I was searching and searching and while I was attending college came to live with a family who were evangelical Christians. They showed me that I had never seen true Christianity and I asked Jesus to take over my life there. I have since developed a wonderful relationship with Jesus and served Him in lots of ways.

| When I was in Sunday School, I always asked those questions too!!! It goes back to what they say, "Who had the first Adam dream?" Something went wrong somewhere in order for there to even have to be Christian Science to tell people nothing is wrong!! Its the old hole in the logic discussion!

| Anonymous 8/6/2007 @ 4:49:39 PM, Welcome! We're glad you're here. I wish more CSists had the shared motivation of questions unanswered in CS with answers found in God's word. Do Go Be Man <><

| "If God created man perfect, how did he believe an imperfect idea? and If God doesnot know sin, disease and death, why does He talk about it so much in the Old Testament?" Logic reveals CS as non-scientific & Scripture reveals it as non-Christian. To those who can accept it, Christian Science is neither Christian nor science. Welcome. zoarean

| Hi Anonymous, Welcome to the forums! It's great to hear that you have found a wonderful relationship with Jesus. If you decide to do some more posting, it would be helpful for you to make up some sort of nickname even if you decide not to register. That will help us keep track of which "anonymous" poster you are.

| Yes would'nt we all like the CS answer to that, problem is nobody is willing to respond. If there is no sickness, disease etc. why are CSists sick themselves and why was MBE sick all her life? Why is my mum always sick after following CS for 12 years? Why are the children of CSists dying? There's no sense in it, none whatsoever.

| Yes blame it all on that first heretic, Jesus. He said that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish and look at all the said faith Christians who are and have been for the last 2,000 years. Look at all who started wars in His name to kill the infidels. Can you say Jhad? People continue to die all around us, why do so many people follow that heretic?

jesusmyhealer (8/8/2007) Yes would'nt we all like the CS answer to that, problem is nobody is willing to respond.I don't know what kind of steps you have taken to get your questions answered, but it has been my experience that adult adherents of Christian Science are generally more than willing to take on questions like yours. If there is no sickness, disease etc. why are CSists sick themselves and why was MBE sick all her life? Why is my mum always sick after following CS for 12 years? Why are the children of CSists dying? Valid questions. But it should be understood that (at least to my knowledge) not all adherents of Christian Science practice it perfectly. And, by the way, I don't think you will find anyone who claims to practice it perfectly.

| Whether an adult adherent can answer it or not does not adequately address the issues. One of your pat responses is usually "we are to emerge gently". Easy answer and one given over the 100 years when the truly bright ones question instead of follow like blind sheep. MBE herself should have answered the questions. Instead, the writings are fraught with inconsistencies and vague generalizations and circular logic written in flowery prose. I refer to my earlier post......something went wrong somewhere...who had the first ADAM DREAM? What is so funny is that I found a book where a woman wrote another book to actually clarify MBE's writings!!! A "Key" to her "Key".
