mortal man makes mistakes yes. But I strive everyday to turn away from mortal man. Mortal error. When you choose the material things whatever they may be you are making it is a mortal error but I do not live in my mistakes. I live spiritually and the mortal errors disappear they can not continue to reoccur if their is nobody to participate then they become unreal.

That works just fine with colds and things that go away on their own. But when the "moral error" does NOT disappear, then what?

Christian Science gives the illusion that you have control over everything that happens to you. That can sound wonderful. Except when something comes along (as it does in life) that is NOT within your control, and then you are told that it was due to your lack of understanding.

In other words, all your fault. And don't tell me that all mortal error will disappear -- I was a 4th generation Christian Scientist, Principia graduate, class-taught, a practitioner and Reader, and believe me -- even Christian Scientists eventually die of SOMETHING. Too often, sooner rather than later.

Ann

Wow you are so right.. I have no control over what happens to me. God has all controll. He works through me. I by all means do not fear the experation of this mortal body. I magine all the wonderful things you must experince when it is time for this body to lay down. I am not afaird of "death". I know when he shows himself to me None of this would of ever mattered. matter  does not matter. I welcome my spritual coming when this mortal life is left behind. I also think what we experince during and when it comes brings you closer to god...I think the body dies not me.... what a wonderful feeling it is to know there is no end God is all and All..

If you go to a foreign country and say the words nobody knows then that means they are not real to them. And that is how I look at sin. If people choose not to participate in sin it to would cease to exists.

The words may not be understandable to them, but that doesn't mean that the words don't exist or aren't real.  Words unspoken don't cease to exist.  You can pretend all you want to that sin and disease aren't real, but your denial, or lack of understanding, will not cause them to end.

I know that you are very sincere in your beliefs.  Unfortunately they do not line up with God's word, the Bible. I pray that you wll come to understand the Scriptures without the "interpretation" of S&H.

Cause them to end? they are not real the have no beginning and end. God is all and all. I must say this site makes me even more sure that C.S is a great path. I hear people given in to the material world and finding suffering and confusion, marital problems. Praying for others but not beliving pray can actually do anything. Putting limits on his wonderful power. Hi is limitless in what he does and can do. You are trying to say god does not completly heal so crazy think he can just do it part way and a doctor is more powerful than his works? wow!

C.sand proud,

I must say this site makes me even more sure that C.S is a great path.

Your mind is made up, just as mine was for more than 30 years.

I encourage you to pursue Christian Science class instruction and immerse yourself in the Christian Science taught by Mary Baker Eddy. Adulterated Christian Science can be even more dangerous than what she taught. In the meantime, I pray you are able to open yourself to the teachings of Jesus as accurately represented by the Scriptures.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate"  We speak the same English language, but we don't seem to be using the same dictionary.

The way I see it, Christian Science trys to limit God's power, by claiming that God cannot heal us if we are under the care of a doctor.

Doctors are not more powerful than God; I know of no doctor that would ever make such a claim.  But I do know doctors who sincerely believe they are serving God in their healing ministries.

Actually I doubt it surprised anyone. Or even responded to such materialism. I don't claim to read minds as the last post says I just state my opinion on the situation. I have never seen such a feel sorry for yourself group of people. It is astonishing to me if my post come off wrong it is simply because my mind is blown. love does not sustain this group in my opinion self pity does. You feed on each others sin and sorrow. Your childhood is merely your excuse. I don't mean to be cold but get real buck up. What are most of you guys in your 40 or so. Goodness. Are you not adult enough to quit blaming C.S for your misery. I doubt that will ever happen because then you will only have yourself to blame. It is C.S fault your parents abused you...It is C.S fault you married losers... It is C.S fault you stayed in a religion you did not like for 30 years. Everyone of these sounds like personal decisions you made. Did the church tell all theses I hate my husband women who to Marry... I have never heard of arranged marriages in C.S so once again personal decision. You picked the wrong guy deal with it. I agree that some of the abuse stories are saddening but your going to let it control your life come on see you just made your own misery a reality. Thank God for C.S and it's message. Maybe you should look up the meaning of personal responsibility.

C.S. and Proud:

Welcome!!! We are pleased to have you sharing with us.

It's obvious from you posts that you have many ones that others have shared. Are you new to this site, or have you been monitoring it for some time.

Just curious (and welcome again).

Okay, my turn. I was not raised in CS and didn't have the profound damage inflicted on me that my fellow posters speak about. I am an extremely well balanced, confident and healthy individual. I do triathlons, have a successful career in international business, etc. My husband was not so fortunate. He went through similar experiences as posted in these forums. This has been validated by a number of long term friends and family members who have known my husband for over 50 years. These individuals represent a wide variety of faiths and backgrounds. In fact, his family (except for my inlaws) all joined other religions. They all grieve for the lost childhood of their family member. My husband is a strong person and has rebounded quite well from the abuse. However, the scars exist. He knows the meaning of RESPONSIBILITY and is not a pathetic loser as you so describe all these folks.

I have strong assessment abilities, as evidenced by my successful career, wide and wonderful group of friends, extremely well adjusted children (raised non CS, has alot to do with it), etc. I can tell you that CS is a DAMAGING CULT and you are so off in your assessment of these folks. You are the one who is completely lost.
