(I have to keep an eye on that log-on cyber cookie monster!  I forgot to re-log on the "Anoymous" post just above LInda.)

Something I neglected in that post is to point out--and this is not an original observation--that such ecumenical associations and outreaches create conflict with old-school CSists, who are often alienated with new hymns, gospel (and hence strongly minority) sing-alongs, New Age workshops, and the like.  So TMC is faced with a dilemma: placate the old-timers (and risk losing their estate bequests) or further isolate CS from such movements and persons who might affiliate with (or even join) "the Movement" and give it new life and membership.

It's a lose-lose situation.

Isn't that interesting....you folks are talking about the guy who tossed me out of Daycroft, after yelling at me a couple of times before he finally got so mad that he had to cleanse the school of the error that I represented to him. Heart attack at age 55, eh? Let's see, he booted me in early 1972, and by then he was not too happy a guy on occasion. Too bad about Daycroft, they really never got over the polio scandal there. "Knowing the Truth" doesn't heal polio either!!! That's life I guess.

Scandal. haha. wow You sound a bit like a scorned student. Daycroft is a wonderful school. I know lots of people who do it with their kid. I wish my kids were involved in it. The only reason they are not is because we have a great school where we live and they enjoy it so much. They have a lot of online programs. Fantastic program.

Proud,

Try to be more sensitive towards your fellow posters here.  The polio outbreak at Daycroft was not a "ha ha" funny episode.

In 1972, with B. Cobbey Chrisler at the helm, there was an outbreak of polio at Daycroft, a Christian Science boarding school in Greenwich, Connecticut. Eleven children were left with varying degrees of paralysis. The epidemic was not discovered by health authorities until twenty days after the first student had become ill with the disease and after five students had been sent to their homes in other states.

I think you mean 11 mortal bodies not the spirit of the children itself. I mean come on this body is just flesh and bones. Besides it was gods will nothing more who can ask him to do more or be more? The "outbreak" you call has nothing to do with you or me. That's what gets me about everyone saying that C.S are in denial of death or act like it does not matter, what does gods plan for someone else have to do with us. I think the passed was this, Or i wish I had been there or I will miss them. That's basically what you hear during eulogies. That is a lot of I that has nothing to do with you. I think the man was brilliant.

Sorry Proud, even if you wanted to, you cannot send your children to the DayCroft School.  It does not exist.  The school was closed 18 years ago.  The proceeds from the sale of Daycroft’s property were used to create The Daycroft School Foundation, which makes grants to organizations that provide children and young people with a spiritually-based education.  The Foundation also offers its own educational programs, including online learning and conferences and workshops for Christian Science educators.

I was a dedicated Christian Scientist for many years, and like alot of the former CSers who post here, I have a fairly good understanding of CS.  But I just don't see any CS in the statements you are making here.  Maybe it's just a lack of good communication, but it sounds like you are making up your own religion here, and calling it Christian Science.

I'm just curious.....  Do you use the Bible and Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures as your guide?
