Mere Kat (9/25/2009)
C.sand proud (9/25/2009) Daycroft is a wonderful school. I know lots of people who do it with their kid. I wish my kids were involved in it. The only reason they are not is because we have a great school where we live and they enjoy it so much. They have a lot of online programs. Fantastic program.Sorry Proud, even if you wanted to, you cannot send your children to the DayCroft School. It does not exist. The school was closed 18 years ago. The proceeds from the sale of Daycroft’s property were used to create The Daycroft School Foundation, which makes grants to organizations that provide children and young people with a spiritually-based education. The Foundation also offers its own educational programs, including online learning and conferences and workshops for Christian Science educators. where do you see I want to send my kids there? I said I want them involved come on read the post befroe you reply.

| You were not to deticated now were you. I think if you really understood it you would still be practicing my freind. I think your the one who is making up your own religion. I think you found fear was a much easier concept. I think by reading your previous post you enjoy the attention of having people feel bad for you or having a problem thinking you are saving people. You obviously needed something to consume your self while you were going on your own path.

This is the most overused excuse to explain why we left Christian Science. No Christian Scientist has yet to attempt to explain decades of well accepted Christian Science practice followed by leaving the movement. They have also been ill-equipped to deal with the proposition that Christian Science grossly misrepresents the Bible.
For more than 30 years, I was held up as a model Christian Scientist. Took Class at an early age and was considered a leader. The day came that I realized Christian Science could not be based on the Bible given Mary Baker Eddy's teachings regarding its errors. I had to make a choice or reconcile the Bible with Science and Health. I found them mutually exclusive and chose the Bible.

Proud,

Hoping everyone forgives this continued straying from the topic at hand.
I did not say I held myself up as a model. I certainly am not now. I merely tried to convey to you and others that my understanding of Christian Science was validated over time by those in Christian Science including many who remain in the movement at high levels. My departure and renouncement of the teachings surprised many, if not all.
Blessings upon you if you have ascended above sin. I have not.
BTW, another common theme we find from Christian Scientists is the use of ad hominem arguments that try to discredit the truth by discrediting the person while ignoring the facts.

Jesus Calls Levi
After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, "Follow me." And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.
And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" And Jesus answered them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."

| Dear CsandProud, Wow, it is interesting that you should point out another's time spent on this board, when you are spending most of your day here all the while balancing the care of your two dear ones at the same time. You also claim to be able to read other's minds over the internet and determine their motivations for participating in this forum. Wow, again! It is really sad --really sad, that you have missed the whole point of this web site. Please, take a step back and read about the purpose of this board and this site. Read some of the resources here. None of us go to CS web sites to belittle CS or to taunt the posters on those sites. We are respectful of other people's opinions. We are here to share our common experiences and continue to grow in grace and spirit. It was Love that brought us here, and Love sustains us here. "Pride going before the fall." Good Pride: Proper respect for one-self, self-respect A reasonable or justifiable self-respect Sense of one's own dignity and self-worth Delight or satisfaction in one's own or another's achievements Bad Pride; An unduly high opinion of oneself Exaggerated self-esteem, conceit Haughty behavior resulting from arrogance An improper and excessive self-esteem known as conceit and arrogance A sin of attitude and of the heart and spirit A puffed up and inflated ego Boasting and high-mindedness A conceited sense of one's superiority Highly exalted in attitude, opposite from the virtue of humility Which kind of pride do your posts reflect?

| Actually I doubt it surprised anyone. Or even responded to such materialism. I don't claim to read minds as the last post says I just state my opinion on the situation. I have never seen such a feel sorry for yourself group of people. It is astonishing to me if my post come off wrong it is simply because my mind is blown. love does not sustain this group in my opinion self pity does. You feed on each others sin and sorrow. Your childhood is merely your excuse. I don't mean to be cold but get real buck up. What are most of you guys in your 40 or so. Goodness. Are you not adult enough to quit blaming C.S for your misery. I doubt that will ever happen because then you will only have yourself to blame. It is C.S fault your parents abused you...It is C.S fault you married losers... It is C.S fault you stayed in a religion you did not like for 30 years. Everyone of these sounds like personal decisions you made. Did the church tell all theses I hate my husband women who to Marry... I have never heard of arranged marriages in C.S so once again personal decision. You picked the wrong guy deal with it. I agree that some of the abuse stories are saddening but your going to let it control your life come on see you just made your own misery a reality. Thank God for C.S and it's message. Maybe you should look up the meaning of personal responsibility.

| Proud, Actually I doubt it surprised anyone. As you note, it's your opinion. Can't speak for everyone, but I can assure you that I do not feel sorry for myself. Quite the contrary, I'm very grateful for what God taught me for the good and the bad through Christian Science. Why stand aghast at nothingness? Jesus came for sinners, not the perfect. I'm in the sinner line, grateful for all that God has done in my life including my experience in Christian Science. If you've made the demonstration over sin, we have nothing to offer you. Rather than attacking us, teach us. How would you address what we have found in the Bible? How and why do you suppose that God allowed and enabled us to become such a sorry lot. How would Mary Baker Eddy address us and our concerns? I mentioned in another thread (or maybe this one) that I'm happy you find good in Christian Science and have avoided the types of experiences the former Christian Scientists on these forums share. I also encouraged you to get serious about its study including the pursuit of class instruction. Practising Christian Science requires diligence. Do not be lukewarm about it. I found good in Christian Science for more than 30 years and demonstrated my understanding of it. I feel at this point in my life, however, that my most important healing in Christian Science was of the belief in a flawed Bible as taught by Mary Baker Eddy. Do Go Be Man <>< "... he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified." - Romans 8:27-30 (English Standard Version) "'I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'" - Revelation 3:15-22 (English Standard Version)
