Anonymous (9/23/2009) Its interesting that the kids temperature was taken in the first place ! Hmmmmm..something is wrong with that from a CS point of view. Don't get me wrong! I am all for medically addressing the issue especially when children are concerned
Anon1938Very interesting their temperature was so high, I take my childrens temp when they are sick and they have NEVER had a temp as high as 104. CS's seem to suffer from grave illness all the time!

| No suffering. they are just perfect. Grave illness hehe. They were not to ill to go to school and now they are fine. If it had said 106 I still would of let the love of god work in them. I for one feel no shame or remorse for the life we chose to live.

When my kids are sick they get tylenol, ice cream, and cartoon network. No shame, no guilt just lots of love and tlc.
Yeah so do mine but they get cool shower and love instead of medicine. And PBS instead of cartoon network. I am sorry your parents abused you and the C.S religion. All the things you stated did not sound like love and I would never make my boys feel that way. Sounds more like a case of neglect by your parents than love of C.S.

| Dear Proud, This forum is mainly a place for former Christian Scientists, and often NON Christian Science spouses, children, or relatives of Christian Scientists, to gather and talk about the negative and often hurtful experiences they have had with this religion. We come here for help. Practicing Christian Scientists do comment here and you are welcome to post here, but you should understand that most of us have had terrible, painful, heartbreaking experiences with Christian Science. These experiences are not something we read about or heard about, we LIVED them. I am 61. I have been married to a third generation Christian Scientist for 40 years and have even worked at The Mother Church. Many others here have been the third and fouth generation of Christian Scientists in their families, class taught, and even practitioners. They have been Christian Scientists for longer than you have lived. Don't expect us to believe as you do and have wonderful things to say about this religion...but also, and very importantly, dont feel we dislike you because you are a Christian Scientist. For most of us here, many of our family, loved ones, ARE Christian Scientists, .....if they are still alive. AH! While you may read that as a sarcastic statement, I would ask you to think about it. There is a lot of pain in losing a loved one unnecessarily and MANY of us here have experienced this. Its why we are here. I would feel comfortable in saying that most of us here have concerns for ANY Christian Science child. You clearly have had your own difficult childhood experience and have survived it and have found your own path to the light. You are to be commended. You are still very young. Christian Science has a great appeal to young people because it paints a beautiful picture of what life is. I know that because I was just 20 when I met my future husband and I thought it sounded wonderful too. And its very uplifting to check off all those little "healing" experiences as coming from prayer and GOD and MBE's teachings. Just consider that most children will grow up to live a long life whether they see a doctor or not, whether they take medicine or not. Headaches go away, fevers go away, all on their own. The problem comes when a real life threatening illness strikes. This is why we would worry about your children. WE feel you have followed a false prophet and your children MAY suffer if something really serious should happen to them. I scoffed at my own mother when she warned me about Christian Science. I thought I knew it all too. Now I am her age and life's experience has proven her right and me very very wrong. I really don't expect you to change your mind, or even listen to us. Unfortunately, for too many of us, we have to learn life's lessons on our own by just living it, experiencing it. My dear mother always used to say..."You'll never know until it happens to you." My sister and I used to look at each other and roll our eyeballs when she said it..we heard it SO many times. But it had no meaning for us. We had never had any real trevails. Nothing bad had ever happened to us, yet. But she was SO right. You wont KNOW what we mean Proud, until it happens to you. Honestly, we pray it doesnt. Square Peg

| your very judegmental about a person you know nothing about. I don't think I will be responding to your post, I would much rather speak with people who speak with love and fact rather then you rehashing your abuse over and over as much as you want to belive we are all like your folks does not make it true.

| Actually I am. They went to school today and will tommrow. They do not seek medical care and will not be kept out of school. I am so glad this country reconizes our religion and that we have the freedom to practice it. Guidelines for what? My children are perfectly fine. thx for your concern.
