I'm thankful for being thankful to God. Thanksgiving Day services remain a special memory of my years in Christian Science and it remains a special day of remembrance and thankfulness set aside from others.
My church conducts a Thanksgiving Day service from which I've just returned. We had opportunities during the service for corporate prayer and testimonies of Thanksgiving. I gave thanks to God for His provision in adversity and how He uses all things to our good.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Amen to all you said, Do Go. And I'll add that I'm thankful that my husband likes to cook the turkey!
