Anonymous (1/15/2010) Every Christian here has proven the point that the primary mode of operation of most Christians is to pick one little line that is written, either a line written by a poster here or a line written by their "God" which really isn't God at all but in fact is their real idol the Bible) while ignoring the real point of what was being pointed out.
Pease don't include me in this catagory. I am a christian simply because I believe that in some mysterious way god put him here on this earth to be the way for us to find god or relate with god.
I am trying to focus on the big picture. How can man have a close relationship with god.How can we live life as god wants us to.
All the bible thumping or using verses to bolster a point of view is just secondary to the real point. We get distracted by the details.
Don't run off without searching out this man Jesus and what he was /is really all about. It's all about love. there's the force behind the entire universe.
Someone said 'everything is either love or a cry for love'. Truer words were never spoken. love is what our hearts crave. we can go without food, water or anything else but we live because of love. That is the message I find in Jesus.
In fact I believe jesus' pushing the idea of God as love is precisely why he was crucified. We for some reason want to make God all about justice or vengeance or laws or dos and don'ts. Preaching love as more important than anything makes us squirm and lash out. For God to be all loving puts into question many things people of the old testament declared about God.
I don't mean this as critcism, it's just the way we are. Even in this forum we all gather round little squabbles(sp) and put in our 2 cents worth. but I think god's way is higher.God's way is love.
kinda preachy , i know.

Linda, what's all this about impure motives of people who posts here? Another Christian judgment call. How do you know what motivates anyone? How do you know what's inside people's hearts? People don't know what's in your heart, and you don't know what's in others. Maybe they have been hurt by Christian attitudes, just as you were hurt by CS. In the first place are all views of various religious groups desired or represented here? Of course not. How about the Hindu or the Muslim touched by Christianity or CS? Wouldn't the world be a better place if all voices were heard? If not here, then where? If not now, when? Who speaks for the recovering people who have not found this forum? Who cares what these injured outsiders have to say? Who is the voice of the voiceless ...those within cultures in the US or abroad where both Christianity and CS have touched and injured?
Agenda? Agenda? A few out of step replies are posted on these forums with the intent to make people think; which ones did you take the time to address? Only the ones who were interested in your scripture class. And that's your right. I am not saying you should feel bad about that. I am simply saying that you don't respect certain posts that very well may hold some kind of lesson for you. Some people are here to think, and to heal, give them the dignity to think and to heal as adults deserve. This is not about ego and being right or feeling good or bad, angry or sweet. It's about thinking, feeling, considering various angles and healing. Everyone has a right to be heard in this world. Are you saying that right doesn't go on this forum of yours? Is that or is it not the true Christian Way? Or is their a difference between God's way and your way on these forums? In all intellectual inquiry it has always been the people who challenge the thinking of others that have helped mankind progress in all undertakings, spiritual or otherwise.
The posts that you ignore seem to be the ones whose views you feel annoyed or challenged by because you are so steeped in rigid Christian thinking. It is my pretty vast observation that you can only find the time to teach Bible class with curious seekers; your priority is not to find the time or space in your heart to consider deeply the content of the annoying, challenging person's real heart. So your choice is to entertain your suspicions of treachery rather than seeing that other people who do not share your views could very well be thinking and speaking more Christlike than you. Just a thought here. Maybe non-Christian people aren't so bad after all, Linda.
Agenda? These forums are moderated by a rigid doctrine-following group of people with an agenda that seems to value teaching their world-view rather than offering more than a few lines of compassion to the long cries of people damaged by religion. We're really damaged here, Linda, or we wouldn't be writing here. We are really hurting inside, we are reaching out and all you Christians give us are the Scriptures, Scriptures, Scriptures. Perhaps Scriptures have healed some people, but they haven't healed everyone. Some injured people simply dismiss the fact that they are bleeding profusely inside just like a lot of abused children have dismissed their internal injuries and moved on to seeing if what you have to say is of some help. Like taking an antacid. Some people just quit the forums and go away unhealed. Some of us care deeply about the world and have studied with every ounce of their energy and every dollar they have earned in order to find ways to bring people together as a love-sharing world where all people of all nations can be healed and help heal others. Your agenda seems to be smaller than that. It's only an opinion, don't go getting defensive.
It is sad that here are people of all nations and all religions who have been damaged by CS as well as by Christianity and we and they all need healing. You haven't seemed to be willing to see our universal Oneness, nor to look at how your classic fundamentalist Christian interpretation of the Bible has squelched any possibility of world peace. You refuse to see how Christian interpretations of God has damaged people of all nations.
You are the stewards of this forum, Linda, your limited work for mankind. Your agenda. You call the shots. If you do not want to think outside the box, I can't help thinking that you and people like you are a part of the problem, not the solution. We who are not on the same page as you are merely beggars here. I am okay with begging, but I am not okay with squelching my views regardless how off beat they may or may not be. I have been squelched for too many years already. Just got my own voice back about 10 years ago, and I promote it for all people, even Christians. I promote listening from the heart too.
You are long on literary skills, long on scripture and you went to grad school. That puts you on top. But healer and reader of hearts you are not. Long on posting scriptural proofs and doctrine very short on looking at what you are ignoring and avoiding. Scripture, scripture everywhere.
Linda stated: "I have a hard time taking you seriously since it has become clear to me that you are not here with pure motives."
Well I have posted off an on again over the past 3 years under different names crying my heart out over the deaths and illnesses that I have witnessed at the hands of CS and you never took me seriously then except to toss a line or two about how sorry you were that I suffered. So I don't need you to take me seriously. I just like to challenge people's thinking, and speak for the underdogs, that's all. Call it a rant when you don't agree. Call it wisdom when you do agree. So be it again.
This forum is a lot like CS in that it has a lot of good going for it, but a bit of warped thinking too.

| "Just being me," "Kindness is the answer," Could be wrong, could be right " (all of whom are the same anonymous poster), PLEASE: Post under one name so people can keep track of who you are. Stop changing your story. Focus on constructive discussion rather than just ranting. We welcome lively discussion here, but your posts have simply become disruptive. You will no longer be welcome on these forums if the behavior I've described continues.
