Hello All!
I was not sure where to post this but this section seems to be as good as any. I was looking for a book or it might be a tape called, "Christian Science Healing - Devilish or Divine" by Walter Martin. If anybody has any information on it feel free to e-mail me or post it here. E-mail matt@candle88.com Thanks.

Hi MadMax:
By the way, I love Mad Max movies!
You can listen to these tapes online free of charge if you have real player. They have areas on the site where you can purchase materials as well.
Here's the web address:

Mad Max:
You are most welcome. I listened to the tapes again the other day myself. They are very enlightening. He does an excellent job, I think, in explaining the Bible versus the teachings of Science and Health. May God bless you and keep you.

re: Kingdom of Cults by Walter Martin
I learned this morning that my Sunday School class (adult) will begin studying Kingdom of Cults in September. Any insights you might like to share would help me prepare for the Fall session.
Thanks,

Hi Do Go Be Man:
Sorry I didn't respond to your message right away, for some reason, I overlooked this thread the last couple of days. What is it you would like to know specifically that I could address for you?
I will say this, this is a very good book, and I think you will enjoy it in your Sunday School class. If you haven't visited the website I listed above, it is worth the visit. They have a 2 sided tape in there that is well worth listening to for any Bible student. It is the tape MadMax was referring to. There's lot of infomation on their page about CS. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Louise,
Thanks. This time it was me who missed your post. I bought a copy of the new edition of The Kingdom of the Cults today. I read everything about CS on the Walter Martin web site and listened to the audio programs. They have been very helpful. You answered my main question about how good the book is and, I assume, whether there were any pitfalls in it I should be aware of.
All,
What I'm looking for now is hearing of experiences regarding teaching or attending such a class that can help me make it more interesting for people who have had no contact with CS. Also, what do you think of me sharing with the class some of the posts I've written in this forum (I would not share anything anyone else has written without their permission)?
I met someone at church the other day whose father grew up in CS though had left it by the time he was born. He suggested I speak to the leader of the upcoming Sunday School class including telling him about my past. I did so on Sunday and have been asked to participate in helping to lead at least that portion of the class. I may also end up sharing some of my brushes with other cult "churches."
Thanks,
Do Go Be Man

| Not that you'd want to include anything I've thrown into the arena, but if you want to it's ok by me. I'm wondering if you yourself are teaching this or are somehow involved in the curriculum? I think it's an excellent choice for a Sunday school class. My brother-in-law and his wife were also involved in a "Christian Cult". They were very new in their faith and completely on fire for Christ. They had very little Bible knowledge on their own and only knew enough to have salvation. They met a woman who had lots of head knowledge and little heart. She sucked my sister-in-laws entire family into her web and even managed to convince a couple from the church to legally adopt her. Even though she was married and in her mid- thirties. Anyway, after basically becoming involved myself for a very short time (God in all of His mercy allowed NO harm to come to me and my family) they eventually were able to see the light and get out. This woman had a very strong hold over everyone that she encountered. Unfortunately, she is probably out there right now sucking in someone else. I think the most important thing for people to learn is to own their walk with the Lord. Own it and then it is harder to wrench it out of our hands. Take full responsibility for it, know the Word and then you cannot be deceived by false teachers.

It's okay by me too! Even though I have never been CS, but have in-laws and a spouse who are, one thing you could share from my point of view is how family members worry so about their loved ones that are in CS.
I think like with any testimony, you need to speak from your heart. Don't hold back! People should be made aware of the pitfalls and dangers of falling for false teachings. How to avoid them. Share with them your struggles and how with the mighty power of the Holy Spirit, you were led to the truth of Christ. Let us know how your classes go, okay? I can see how the Lord is already working in your life! You have been chosen to help lead in this class. Isn't that wonderful? With the life experiences that you have had, the Lord is now using that for His good purpose to help train and educate others. Good luck with your class.
In Christ, Louise
