If you are trying to influence cs, why not be completely upfront. State your position: We believe your interpretation of the Bible is incorrect and that it has serious consequences for your eternal soul and your physical body. The citations from the Bible that we think contradict cs are: xxxxx
I think most people can respect that approach even if they disagree. camille

When I was a practising cs I was very aware of the fact cs did not stand on Bible inerrancy and also neither did many Christians. I knew it was a point of difference within orthodox Christian churches and members. While growing up I often attend church, Sunday School and sometimes vacation Bible school and some revivals with friends in other churches including Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist, Methodist and Lutheran congregations. My family watched Billy Graham crusades on tv.
I also knew at some point that cs was not considered Christian by many Christians because of its interpretation of 'Christ' as the divine nature inherent within all mankind. "Christ is the light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."
In spite of this I never considered cs as un Christian because it focused all of its teachings on the life and words and works of Jesus.I may be wrong but I would be surprised if large numbers of cs are not equally aware of these points.
I think in your efforts to reach cs you have several issues. One the mixing of medical solutions with cs prayer. Two the differences of theology in cs and mainstream Christianity. three your positions based on Bible inerrancy.
some thoughts based on the different posts on this site:
There are some who are very angry with cs and use the forum as a way of working through the anger or at least giving it voice. Others seem more based in a sense of having been saved by a relationship with Jesus Christ differing from and more gratifying than what they experienced as a csist and share from wanting other cs to find the same meaning.
Attacking cs from a motive of anger would most likely produce outcomes different than that of pure desire to share the love of God.

For a while I have been thinking about wanting to mail out copies of Linda's book "The religion that kills", and "Blue Windows", to the Principia Upper School and College. Not that I have any means of doing this, it is just a fantasy. I also realize the books would probably not make it to the student's mailboxes.
I have been trying to think of a way to reach out to these kids, and I am at a loss because of how 'protected' they are from outsiders.
Kms,
I agree that mailing information to the Prin kids would probably not be successful. Perhaps one way to reach them might be through older siblings who have already graduated from Prin. Some of your former classmates probably have siblings who are still at Prin, and they might be eager to share information with their siblings. The Christian Way web site would be a good start since it's easy to remember and has links to pertinent books as well as these discussion forums. Make it known that there are categories on the forums dedicated to topics like "recovery" and "Principia" and that these are good places to start.
Anonymous and Anonymous,
I agree that secretive approaches and angry approaches don't usually work very well. I have also noticed that people can feel "attacked" even if points of disagreement are presented in a "just the facts" manner (people often read emotion where none is intended.) One nice thing about the Internet is that it allows information to be readily available to people who come looking for it. It is not thrust upon them; they make the choice to read it or not, on their own terms.
