Mental, emotional and verbal abuse seems to be the norm with most CS parents in the way that they rear their children. My mother and father will not let go of CS and they will probably die in CS. I've shared Christ with both of them, but it has gone in one ear and out the other.
I see CS as such an abusive religion in itself because it teaches that if you can't heal yourself, it's because the CSist does not understand and doesn't apply CS correctly. The Word of God does not teach us to heal ourselves, but if Christ chooses to heal us, it is He that does the healing.
It's no wonder why so many of us have had to seek treatment from psychiatrists, the CS religion will definitely drive you to one.
